The Academy is designed as a program that combines education, mentoring, and practical festival experience, providing participants with the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in the fields of cultural production, project management, and organization of artistic programs.
The program is intended for anyone interested in the programming, production or project aspect of work in the cultural sector, and places special focus on the development of new generations of producers and managers in culture who want to contribute to the contemporary development of the cultural sector in the region.
The editor of this year's edition of the Academy is Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Brkić, Professor of Cultural Policy and Management in Culture at the UNESCO Department of the University of Arts in Belgrade and at Goldsmiths University in London, whose work connects academic practice, international cultural networks and contemporary models of cultural sector development.
The Academy includes several months of work on the preparation of the International KotorArt Festival in the spring of 2026, as well as a two-week internship in Kotor between July 15 and August 15, during the duration of the festival programs. Through practical work and a mentoring process, participants will have the opportunity to become familiar with various aspects of festival production, from program development and event organization to communication with artists, partners and the audience.
The program includes working with experienced mentors and festival associates, as well as active participation in the realization of festival content, allowing participants to gain valuable practical experience and insight into the functioning of international cultural events.
Participation in the Academy is free, and more information about the conditions and application process is available on the official Festival website. The application deadline is April 1, 2026.
