Owners of campers and trucks parked in the Blok 9 neighborhood in Podgorica have been facing the drilling of their vehicles' tanks and theft of oil for some time now. In the latest incident, two campers were damaged, one of which is owned by Veselin Bajčeta from the Camping Association of Montenegro. Bajčeta told RTV Podgorica that he is concerned about these incidents, which he says are becoming more frequent.

"We hereby appeal to people to whom this happens to report these cases to the police so that these problems can be systematically resolved. In addition to the fact that material damage has been caused to vehicles, these incidents create a sense of insecurity among tourists staying in our city, so we call on the competent institutions to step up controls and take measures to find the perpetrators as soon as possible and prevent new cases," Bajčeta appealed.

Some of the cases have been reported to the police, says Bajčeta - adding that fuel thefts have become more frequent in the last 15 days.

"It's really quite incredible that this is happening, and when it comes to damage, it's several hundred euros, because it's a plastic tank that's quite large and needs to be purchased, it takes time to get the vehicles ready," Bajčeta emphasized.

The camper owners express particular concern about the lack of reaction from the authorities, given that the parking lot is located between residential buildings with multiple video surveillance cameras, and believe that they could easily identify the perpetrators, especially since there is a police guard facility in the parking lot itself, where, as they say, a police officer often stays. The Police Directorate has not yet responded to RTV Podgorica's questions about these cases.
