"Officers of the Regional Security Center "South", Tivat Security Department, in cooperation with the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor, as part of a series of intensive activities to shed light on a serious theft committed in the previous period to the detriment of a jewelry store in Tivat, during which gold worth around half a million euros was stolen, identified one person and filed a criminal complaint against him," the police said.
Namely, the suspect for this crime is DS (48). He is a citizen of the Russian Federation who was born as DZ and then changed his name to DL, and after a certain time to DS, and is a repeat offender in the field of property crime in several different countries.
"It is suspected that, using a suitable means and physical force, he forcibly opened the security shutters and then the doors of a jewelry store in Tivat, from which he stole gold bars worth around 500,000 euros," the police said.
As part of a series of activities to solve this crime, police officers removed several clues from the scene and reviewed video footage from surveillance cameras at a nearby commercial facility when they spotted a passenger vehicle suspected of being used after the crime was committed, which was later located in a parking lot.
"Certain objects and traces were found in it that are suspected to have been used by the perpetrators in the commission of the aforementioned criminal offense, in relation to which appropriate expert examinations were conducted, which resulted in the identification of the suspect DS (48)," the police announced.
Police officers of the Tivat Security Department continue to undertake activities within their jurisdiction with the aim of identifying and prosecuting other persons who participated in the commission of this criminal offense.
