The President of the Coordination Body for Harmonization and Monitoring of Inspection Supervision and Minister in the Government of Montenegro, Milutin Butorović, with his associates, paid a working visit to the Municipality of Ulcinj today, where he met with the Mayor of the Municipality, Genci Nimanbegu, and his associates, to define key steps in preparation for the upcoming summer tourist season.

The focus of the meeting was on establishing stricter order in areas that directly affect the quality of the tourist offer. The key priorities of supervision in Ulcinj will be to combat the shadow economy in accommodation. The problem of unregistered private accommodation has been recognized as one of the biggest challenges. In the coming period, inspection services will place special emphasis on identifying and introducing into legal flows all entities that provide these services without adequate registration. Minister Butorović emphasized that zero tolerance will be applied to non-compliance with regulations related to tax obligations. The goal is to ensure fair market competition for all businessmen who operate in accordance with the law. Special attention will be paid to controlling the legal collection of beach furniture. Inspections will monitor whether beach tenants comply with the rules on the area free from beach furniture, as well as the transparency of price lists and the issuance of fiscal invoices.

Message from Minister Butorović:

"Our goal is not just repressive action, but the establishment of a system in which the rules apply equally to everyone. Ulcinj has enormous tourism potential, and the coordinated action of state and local inspections will ensure that this potential is valorized through legal channels, to the satisfaction of both locals and guests who choose the Montenegrin coast for their vacation."

This visit is part of a broader plan to visit coastal municipalities, thereby confirming the Government of Montenegro's determination to ensure a stable and regulated business environment during the most important part of the tourist year through strong coordination of inspection bodies.
