He emphasized that Montenegro strongly supports parliamentary diplomacy as an important instrument for strengthening mutual trust and cooperation in the Adriatic-Ionian region, especially in the context of contemporary global challenges, and said that the entire Balkans should accept diversity as an asset and the foundation for building stable and inclusive societies.

"Montenegro, as a candidate for membership in the European Union, remains firmly committed to European values, including democracy, the rule of law and the promotion of good neighborly relations, and emphasized the important role of parliaments in strengthening political dialogue and implementing reforms," Camaj emphasized.

In this context, he also pointed to the latest step forward in the European integration process - the European Union's decision to form a working group to draft the Accession Treaty of Montenegro, which represents an important step towards the final phase of negotiations and confirmation of Montenegro's progress on the path to full membership in the European Union.

"Special emphasis was placed on the importance of regional connectivity and infrastructure projects, including Corridors VIII and X, which Montenegro strongly supports due to their broader importance for the economic development and integration of the region with the European Union market," the statement added.

Participation in this conference once again confirms Montenegro's commitment to strengthening regional cooperation and actively contributing to the peace, stability and prosperity of the Adriatic-Ionian region.

"At the end of the conference, a joint declaration was adopted in which the participants confirmed their commitment to strengthening peace, stability and good neighborly relations through parliamentary cooperation, supported the European Union's enlargement policy, as well as the further development of regional connectivity, especially through the implementation of key infrastructure corridors and the improvement of overall cooperation in the region," the statement concluded.
