In competition with producers from thirty countries and among 977 olive oil samples, the oil from the House of Olives stood out with its sensory characteristics and high production standards, earning it one of the most significant awards in the field of olive oil.
The special significance of this success is reflected in the fact that it is the only olive oil from Montenegro that has been awarded gold in this year's edition of the competition, so far, which undoubtedly confirms the top quality of olive oil obtained by processing the indigenous Žutica variety. The House of Olives emphasizes that this award represents confirmation of continuous work on improving quality, applying modern technologies in processing, as well as preserving the authenticity and tradition of Montenegrin olive growing.
"This recognition is the result of commitment to quality in all stages of production - from cultivation and harvesting, to processing and storage of oil. At the same time, this is also confirmation that Montenegro has the potential to position itself equally among the world's leading producers of extra virgin olive oil," the House of Olives announced.
Winning the gold medal in New York represents a significant incentive for the further development of the olive sector in Montenegro, as well as additional promotion of domestic products on the international market.
"The House of Olives, as a national institution dedicated to the preservation and development of olive culture, will continue to contribute through its work to raising quality standards and the international affirmation of Montenegrin olive oil," they concluded in a statement.
