Ibrahimović: First evacuation flight arrives from Egypt, another 160 citizens from the UAE tomorrow

"The first evacuation flight of our citizens was successfully organized and the plane with over 70 passengers departed from the airport in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, for Podgorica," Ibrahimović said.

He specified that the flight was carrying Montenegrin citizens who had been on a tourist trip to Jordan and Egypt, and that the Government of Montenegro, in cooperation with the national airline, managed to organize charter transport.

"This flight includes our citizens who were on holiday in Jordan and Egypt, for whom the Government of Montenegro, together with Air Montenegro, managed to organize a charter flight," said Ibrahimović.

Ibrahimović also announced additional evacuation activities.

"I am pleased to announce the organization of another charter flight with Fly Dubai, which will transport all interested citizens of Montenegro, of which there are about 160, from the United Arab Emirates to Podgorica tomorrow," Ibrahimović pointed out.

Speaking about the security situation, the minister warned of the worsening situation in the Middle East region.

"Unfortunately, we are witnessing an escalation of the security situation and an increase in tensions in the countries of the Middle East. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which I head, is making maximum efforts to ensure timely communication and provide necessary assistance to our citizens who are in the Gulf countries and who wish to return to Montenegro, in constant communication with our colleagues from the embassies of Montenegro, competent consulates and honorary consuls," Ibrahimović said.

He urged citizens to follow official information.

"I take this opportunity to call on our citizens to follow the service information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as the instructions of local authorities," Ibrahimović said.

Ibrahimović expressed his expectation that the situation would calm down.

"I hope that the situation will de-escalate as soon as possible and that our citizens will soon be safely cared for in their homes," concluded the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.
