Prizes in the amount of 300 euros each were awarded to the following institutions: Primary School "Oktoih" from Podgorica, Primary School "Štampar Makarije" from Podgorica and Secondary School of Economics and Catering from Nikšić.
A special individual award in the amount of 200 euros was awarded to teacher Sava Kovačević and computer science professor Ivana Janković from the "Oktoih" Elementary School in Podgorica, for the preparation entitled "Smart city: energy guardian!".
The Director of the Institute for Education, Raba Hodžić, congratulated the awarded institutions and individuals, emphasizing that their ideas, dedication, and the quality of the implemented activities confirm that the education system has strong potential to contribute to the development of awareness about the importance of energy conservation and environmental protection.
"I would especially like to emphasize the importance of continuously improving the "Eco-School" program through initiatives like this. It is precisely through concrete activities that connect the curriculum with real-life challenges that students develop responsibility, critical thinking and awareness of sustainable development. Regularly marking important environmental dates plays a major role in this, reminding us of our shared responsibility and the need for constant action."
On this occasion, I would like to highlight the extremely important, long-standing cooperation with the "Do Good" Foundation, which continuously provides support to the Institute for Education. This cooperation is reflected both through participation in the work of the coordination group for the implementation of the "Eco-Schools" program, and through the organization of various activities and competitions such as this one. It is precisely thanks to this commitment and partnership that it is possible to achieve visible and sustainable results," said Hodžić.
The Director of the "Do Good" Foundation, Marija Manja Jovović, thanked the educators for their participation and emphasized the importance of their role in the education and upbringing of young generations, as well as their contribution to the development of creativity, innovation, and awareness of the importance of energy and energy efficiency.
"We are particularly pleased that 33 educators participated in the only competition for the best preparation for classes, working in a creative and innovative way with 855 students."
students on the topic of energy and energy efficiency. Quality preparation for classes is the basis for quality work with children. We also owe gratitude to our partners, the companies Čikom and Grawe osiguranje, who recognize the importance of such initiatives," said Jovović.
The first-prize winning preparation, "Smart city: energy guardian!", was prepared by Sava Kovačević and Ivana Janković, and together with biology teacher Mersiha Pepeljak, they implemented it with 84 students from grades 1, 6, and 9.
The winner of the special award, Sava Kovačević, emphasized that competitions like "Do Good, Save Energy" are important because they provide an opportunity for educators and students to express themselves in a way that often goes beyond the framework of regular classes.
"Receiving a special award for the "Smart City" project has a special meaning for me. It represents confirmation that the ideas we are developing have value and can contribute to the community. This award is not only recognition for our work so far, but also additional motivation to continue even stronger. I can say with pleasure that I will invest the funds in a new project, with the aim of creating innovative solutions and improving the environment in which we live and learn," said Kovačević.
The second-place preparation "Energy in Our Hands" was designed and implemented by Maja Kalezić, a biology teacher, and Biljana Krivokapić, a teacher of computer science and technology, at the Elementary School "Štampar Makarije" from Podgorica, with the participation of students in grades 7 and 8.
Third place was won by the preparation "Renewable Energy Sources and Practical Ecological Action in the Schoolyard", which was prepared and implemented by Professor Olivera Lučić from the Secondary Economic and Catering School in Nikšić, with around 50 students.
"I am especially proud because this success did not come by chance. It is the result of continuous work, curiosity and the desire of students to learn and progress. My role was to guide and support them, but the real success belongs to their efforts. Such recognitions remind us that education has a broader meaning, not only the transfer of knowledge, but also the upbringing of responsible and aware young people. This recognition is an incentive for us to continue even stronger," said Lučić.
Funds for the awards were provided by the companies "Čikom" doo and Grawe insurance.
"Grawe Insurance is very pleased to support the project "Do good, save energy", which brings the importance of a responsible attitude towards energy and natural resources closer to children and young people. We believe that knowledge, curiosity and small changes in everyday habits are the beginning of great social changes. We are pleased to be
"part of an initiative that encourages young people to think about a sustainable future," said Miloš Mitrović, Deputy CEO at Grawe Insurance.
During the ceremony, certificates of appreciation were also presented to the members of the Commission: Nevena Čabrilo, Marko Vukašinović, Saša Karajović, Miljan Grba and Miloš Mitrović, as well as to the partners, the Institute for Education and the companies "Čikom" and Grawe Insurance.
