The Montenegrin national team arrived in Plovdiv in the afternoon, where they will face the Bulgarian national team in a friendly match at the "Hristo Botev" stadium on the first day of June.
Upon arriving in Bulgaria, coach Vučinić emphasized at a press conference that all the national team members, despite the fact that the matches are played at a specific time, have shown exceptional will and desire during the preparations, which greatly encourages him.
– It's a specific date, all the players can't wait for the break. But the boys showed great will and desire during all the training sessions and that encourages me a lot. They were much more attentive in training than at the previous gathering and I believe that as a result there will be significantly fewer individual mistakes. I hope they won't repeat the things that caused us to concede goals, that we will be maximally concentrated, said the coach.
Vučinić emphasizes that he wants the team to make a step forward compared to previous matches.
– We want to make a step forward compared to the previous games. First of all, I would like to win, and I also told the players that we should respect everyone, but it is important to win and that must be our goal. I know the squad, there is no dilemma there. There will be a lot of news in both midfield and attack. We have two friendly matches and everyone will get a chance to show me how much they can do. Now it is all up to them. I know that sometimes in football there is no mercy, this is the national team and the opportunity must be used because we do not have that much time to get a second or third chance, said Vučinić.
Ognjen Gašević is the only player from the "Falcon" camp who plays for the Bulgarian club - CSKA 1948 - and who knows the opportunities in the ranks of the next opponent well. The defender of our team believes that we have the quality to celebrate in tomorrow's match, although the Bulgarians have a team that can cause a lot of problems if the approach is not maximally serious.
– It's a nice feeling, I even prefer that there are many players from the Bulgarian league. From my club – three. I hope to beat them, and then we will exchange impressions. The fact that I am wearing the national team jersey is enough motivation, I don't need any more. But maybe I will just adapt better because I know more Bulgarian national team players. They have a lot of players from the domestic championship, they are not to be underestimated. They will definitely give 100 percent and be compact, if we are not maximally focused and patient, it will be a very difficult match. We respect them, but we believe in ourselves after good preparations. We are thinking positively even though we know that it will not be easy, said Gašević
Our team held its last training session before the match against the Bulgarians at the FSCG Training Camp in the morning, before departing for Plovdiv.
