Radulović: Continuous work is being done to improve the quality of maritime education, efficient supervision of inspections and internal audits is being introduced

Maritime Affairs Minister Filip Radulović met with representatives of the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) who are in Montenegro and are verifying the compliance of the education and training system for seafarers with the requirements of the STCW Convention and the acquis communautaire. The activity is being carried out in the period from 4 to 14 May, the ministry announced.

"The aim of the review is to assess compliance with international and European standards in the field of maritime education, training and certification, in order to further improve the quality and safety of the maritime sector," said Minister Radulović.

The Minister emphasized his commitment to open communication with seafarers and educational institutions, as well as with international partners IMO, EMSA and other relevant organizations.

"We are continuously working to improve the quality of the maritime education and training system at all levels, and efficient supervision of inspections and internal audits is being introduced," emphasized Minister Radulović.

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs emphasizes that it monitors and provides support to all seafarers through various forms of organizations, in order to best organize training at the highest institutional level.
