In the 7th round of the Mini League for the champion of Montenegro, Budvanska Rivijera scored a last-second goal to win against Lovćen (35:34), thus upsetting the defending champion and continuing their dream of the title.
Driven by great motivation, the team from Cetinje opened the match with quality, as expected, and with a quick series of three consecutive goals, they practically gained a decent lead at the start, while the host needed a few minutes to "get involved" in the game and match the defending champion.
Dictated by the elected officials Filip Popović pace, they reacted in a timely manner in attack and maintained the lead, not allowing the Budva team to fully engage in the game despite often being only two goals behind.
By the end of the first half, we can safely say that Lovćen, with experience, held a three-goal advantage – 18:15.
The continuation brought a real handball trickery, and after just a few minutes of play, the team from Budva came up short, which was an alarm for the Cetinje bench to call a timeout.
The home team then had an equalizer attack that ultimately turned into a passive one, only to be followed by three goals from the guests, who quickly regained control of the game.
It seemed like the match would break then, but Novica Rudovic managed to raise the morale of his team, which managed to equalize in the very end for a real spectacle in the Mediterranean Center. A game of nerves followed, both sides were scoring, but in this seesaw of results, the coastal team fared better, reaching the entire spoils with the famous zeppelin from a great action.
