"The shooting was from his house and this was confirmed by people who know the area and know where everyone lives, I mean hunters and border guards. This is the information we received from the field and we do not have forensic evidence for it. The Police Directorate issued several statements and sent a note to the Kosovo Ambassador, and on the other hand, they responded that they had not found any traces and this will be the case every time we ask for help from that side," said Radunović.
We remind you that the shooting on Mount Hajli near Rožaje, or rather at the new Štedim ski resort, took place in July of the year before last and August of last year, and police officers from both Montenegro and Kosovo were involved in the investigation.
The Basic State Prosecutor's Office (ODT) in Rožaje opened two cases in the summer of 2024, but so far the perpetrators have not been identified.
The shooting came from the Kosovo side, and damage was recorded to cabins at the Štedim ski center.
"There have probably been such shootings before, but the public was not informed about them. The Montenegrin border police officers, who were very close in one incident, only a hundred to two hundred meters from the place where the shots ended, can testify that the shots came from the Kosovo side," said a previously well-informed source for the RTCG Portal from Rožaje.
The Montenegrin public first learned about the shootings on Mount Hajli in August 2025, when the last incident occurred. On the Kosovo side, in the immediate vicinity of the border, there is a cattle ranching settlement.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also reacted to resolve the problem through diplomatic channels.
"On September 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro sent a verbal note to Kosovo drawing attention to the frequency of border violations, and expressing the expectation that the perpetrators will be identified," Interior Minister Danilo Šaranović previously stated.
