Celta and Freiburg reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League after eliminating Lyon and Genk, respectively.

Celta and Lyon drew in the first match, but the Spaniards won the second leg 2-0. Their job was made easier because the home team played with ten men from the 19th minute.

Then Musa Nijakate received a direct red card.

After an hour of play, Celta punished it.

He scored a goal for Rueda after a breakthrough by Alvares, and Jutgla eliminated all doubts in stoppage time.

Celta will play in the Europa League quarterfinals against Freiburg, who defeated Genk 5-1 in the second leg.

The Germans thus overturned the minimal defeat from the first match in Belgium.

The home team took the lead in the 19th minute with a goal from Ginter, and in the 25th minute Matanović scored for 2:0.

Towards the end of the half, Smets restored the lead 2:1, but Freiburg dominated the rest of the game.

With goals from Grif in the 53rd minute, Suzuki in the 57th and Egeštajn in the 79th, they achieved a convincing triumph and advanced to the top eight.

Nottingham Forest advanced to the quarter-finals, after eliminating Midtjylland in Denmark after a better penalty shootout – 2:2, 3:0 on penalties.

The Premier League team overcame a 1-0 defeat at home and won the second leg 2-1.

The guests led 2:0 in Herning, with goals from Dominguez and Yates, and Erlić took the match into extra time.

There weren't many chances in the extra 30 minutes, so penalties decided the winner.

Goals for Nottingham in the penalty shootout were scored by Morgan Gibbs-White, Ibrahim Sangare and Williams.

All three Midtjylland players were inaccurate in the first three penalty shootouts...
