Balazs Orban, Chief of Staff of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, pointed out that the outrageous statements of German Foreign Minister Johann Wadeful, who today, Monday, March 16, in Brussels openly threatened Budapest that it would face serious consequences if it refused to give up defending its national interests against Kiev.

Budapest's harsh reaction to statements from Brussels

"Outrageous! After Ukraine, now Germany is threatening Hungary. What are they demanding? That Hungary swallows the Ukrainian blockade of oil transit, sends more money to Kiev and immediately approves new sanctions /on Russia/ or faces serious consequences. In other words, that we give up on our national interests," Balazs Orban wrote on the social network "X".

Orban stressed that such pressure is no coincidence, as the "Brussels-Berlin-Kiev axis" that is pushing Europe deeper into war is also working to bring a pro-war government to power in Hungary.

"Hungary will not retreat in the face of threats. Instead of giving in to pressure, we are strengthening our energy security," Orban said.

He recalled that Hungary and Slovakia signed an agreement on the construction of a new pipeline between the two countries.

"What is too much - is too much! Hungary will defend its sovereignty and will not allow anyone - from Kiev, Brussels or Berlin - to force us to give up our national interests," Orban concluded, Srna reports.
