"We all know that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has suspended the flow. Even if it is true that the Russians attacked `Družba`, nothing prevents him from restarting it," Orban said in a video message on the social network `X`.
He emphasized that it is no coincidence that even European experts are not allowed access to "Družba" in Ukraine, let alone Hungarians and Slovaks.
"Zelensky has publicly said that he does not want to restore the flow because he believes it is wrong for Hungary and Slovakia to buy Russian oil. My answer is that your opinion does not matter. That is our job, we bought that oil from the Russians, and we expect you to let it go," the Hungarian prime minister noted, Srna reports.
He stated that, in the event that Zelensky refuses to restore the flow of oil to Druzhba, Budapest will not make a single decision that favors Kiev, as it has both the authority and the obligation towards Hungary to do so.
"If he doesn't want to restore the flow, I won't approve a 90 billion euro loan. And we can survive longer without oil than he can without European funding," Orban added.
