Serbia played to a draw with the Faroe Islands 31:31 in the match of the 2nd round of the second phase of the World Handball Championship.

The draw is tailored to Montenegro, because if they beat Serbia on Saturday, the "lionesses" will be one step away from the quarterfinals.

The condition is that Spain does not win both matches until the end, against Iceland and Germany.

The tragedy of Serbia is Jovana Jovović, who made a cardinal mistake in the finish, and was then sent off, due to which the rival received a seven-pointer, which he converted into a point.

Previously, Serbia controlled the score during most of the first half.

It was plus three 7:4 at the beginning of the match. On the wings of Krpež-Šlezak, which scored six goals until the 24th minute, Serbia maintained that advantage.

Serbia went to the big break with a plus two - 16:14. It was plus two until the middle of the second half, when the Farankas took the lead 23:23.

Serbia then made several mistakes, which the rival punished and took the lead with 28:26, and then had an attack. However, with two great defenses, Popović brought her team back into the game, and Skrobić and Cvijić equalized at 28:28.

Goal after goal followed, and then with the score 30:30, Risović saved a seven-pointer, entering the last two minutes. Skrobić then gave Serbia the lead, and Risović saved the minimal advantage with another intervention.

However, Jovović had a zicer, but she delayed, so the ball was taken away from her. Then she interfered with the performance, so she was sent off, and Faranka got a seven-pointer, seven minutes before the end.

Mitun took a penalty kick and signed a draw 31:31.
