Fonseca, who many tennis experts predict has a bright future and someone who could upset the leading duo in the near future, played brilliantly against his five-year-old opponent and favorite, having his chances in both sets, but in the end he had to admit defeat to the better player at the moment.

There were no breaks in the first set, and in the tie-break the Brazilian led 6:3, but the Italian won five points in a row and literally stole the set from his rival.
When it comes to the second part of the game, Siner had a 5:2 lead in games, but Fonseca made a great comeback, tying three games and leveling the score at 5:5. After that, both players won their service games, and the tiebreak was won once again, this time somewhat less dramatically (7:4) by the world's second-ranked player, who used the first match point with an excellent forehand return winner.
It took his best 👏

Janik became the Italian with the most wins (97) in the Masters 1,000 series, surpassing Fabio Fognini, who recently retired.
His next opponent will be another leader of the new wave and upcoming stars, American Lerner Tien, who eliminated Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina 2:1 in sets, saving two match points in the third set.
Tien advanced to his first Masters quarterfinal and became the youngest American to reach the top eight in the California desert since the legendary Michael Cheng, who is now his coach.
Siner and Tien met last year in the Beijing final, and the guy from South Tyrol won with a convincing 6:2, 6:2.
