The team has done a great job so far in the regional competition season, with a record of six wins and one loss, and is one step away from confirming the leading position, which would mean a lot in the playoffs. The guys are ready, motivated, they will give their maximum and, with the help of our fans, try to achieve a valuable victory.
"I think the important and most important games are yet to come. The fact is that the game is important, because it can secure us first place and home field advantage until the end of the playoffs. For us, it is just one game in a row, which we want to play to the maximum and give our best as we have done so far," said Sutjeska coach Marko Simonović.
Sutjeska opened 2026 with 11 wins in a row, before losing to Mornar in the Cup. This was followed by a break due to the FIBA "window", during which the team trained and prepared for this match.
"I think we're in for a very tough and uncertain game. God forbid I'm wrong, that it could be different, but there was a break. We had a bad day against Mornar in the Cup, and before that we looked phenomenal for two months and played great basketball. We also have two national team players who haven't been with us for seven or eight days. But we're not complaining - we're going into this game with a clear goal to win and we'll do everything we can to make it happen," said Simonović.
Simonović invited fans to come to the Sports Center and support the team.
"I hope the stands will be full, I know the Dukes will come, they have been coming all the time and I thank them for that. I appeal to everyone to come," said Simonović.
There has been a great atmosphere in the team since the start of the season. The guys have done a great job and deserve to be rewarded.
"We had plenty of time to prepare, everyone enjoyed the international break. We have an experienced team coming, with good individuals. We have an important game ahead of us, where with a win we can secure first place and home court advantage until the end of the playoffs. We expect a full stadium and great support from our fans," said Nikšić's basketball player, Miloš Vujović.
Goran Gajović points out that the team is focused and ready for the upcoming match.
"The last match of the regular season of the ABA2 league. With a win, we secure first place and home field advantage until the end of the playoffs. We are ready to welcome the game. Sloboda is a good and quality team, but we are focused on ourselves, we analyze our game and it depends on what the game will be like. I expect the fans to come in as many numbers as possible, to support us and to register a victory together and celebrate properly," concluded Gajović.
