Andreeva has reached the final of a Grand Slam tournament for the first time in her career, and she will be the favorite there. In the match for the trophy, she will play against Dijana Schneider or qualifier Maja Hvalinska.
Mira ended Kostyuk's incredible streak of 17 consecutive wins on clay, and also avenged her two losses this season.
As for the match itself, perhaps the result best reflects the events on the field.
Andreeva entered the match furiously, taking a 4:0 lead and winning the opening set 6:1.
In the second set, the girl from Krasnoyarsk was leading 3:0 and 4:1. The Ukrainian managed to get a break back and reduce the lead to 4:3, but the eighth-ranked player came away with a big triumph with two games tied.
