According to Eurohoops, the Athens club is ready to offer him a two-year contract worth as much as 10 million euros.
This information comes just days after reports emerged that Barcelona interested in hiring the trophy expert, who recently left the bench Partizan.
Obradović is the most successful coach in Euroleague history with a record nine European Championship titles, and he left his biggest mark at Panathinaikos, where he won five European crowns over 13 years and became one of the club's greatest icons.
If this information proves to be correct, the Serbian expert's return to Athens would represent one of the biggest coaching transfers in the history of European basketball.
Panathinaikos has shown in recent years a willingness to invest huge amounts of money to remain at the very top of European basketball, and an offer of 10 million euros for two seasons would be further confirmation of such a strategy.
For now, there is no official confirmation from either the Panathinaikos camp or Obradović himself, so it remains to be seen whether one of the most successful collaborations in the history of European basketball will be renewed.
