In the grand final in Lausanne, Madrid defeated Club Brugge 4:2 after a 1:1 draw in regular time, after a better penalty shootout.
Real took the lead in the 23rd minute through Jakob Ortega, but then missed several good chances to extend their lead. The penalty came later – the Belgians played bravely and equalized in the 64th minute through Tobias Lund Jensen.
As there was no change in the score until the end, the decision was made in a penalty shootout, in which the Madrid team showed more composure.
The hero was young goalkeeper Javi Navarro who saved two penalties, while Diego Aguado scored the decisive penalty for Real Madrid's second trophy in this competition.
