The Montenegrin women's national football team will welcome Wales tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the City Stadium in Podgorica in the penultimate match of Group B1 of the UEFA Nations League and the first round of qualifications for the 2027 World Cup.

Our women's football team will play a guest match against Albania in Shkodra four days later.

"We have two tough games ahead of us, primarily against Wales, who inflicted a heavy defeat on our home field. I believe we can do much better than in that match. We need to be focused, we need patience and we need to correct tactical mistakes, of which we made many in the first game," says captain Slađana Bulatović.

Wales easily achieved a convincing 6:1 victory at home in the first match.

"The defeat in Wales discouraged us a little, but I have no doubt that we will respond strongly and responsibly. I am sure that we will be stronger defensively, that we will be better positioned, because we have learned from the mistakes we made. We are playing at home, it is clear that Wales is stronger, but in football anything is possible. It is up to us to give our maximum and we believe that we can surprise," emphasizes Tanja Malesija.

Our team has many problems ahead of the last two matches – Armisa Kuč and Jelena Karličić will definitely not play against Wales, Jasna Đoković is a big question mark, and Selma Ličina, who has been injured for a long time, will miss both matches.

"When just one of our players is injured, we are significantly weakened, but we are here to rally, and all the girls on the national team are ready to give their maximum. We will try to be at the best possible level and do everything to surprise," said Slađana Bulatović.

The duel with the Welsh could be a good preparation for the match against Albania in Shkoder – on June 9. Albania is a rival of similar quality, with a great motive for a rematch for the unfortunate 2:1 defeat in Nikšić at the start of the cycle.

"The focus is on the game against Wales, on the defensive part of the game. Against Albania it will be different, we have to go for the win in that match, because I think we have a better and more quality team," Bulatović emphasized.

The Montenegro – Wales match will be played tomorrow at 6 pm at the stadium under Gorica.
