Montenegrin women's basketball team won the second control game against Slovenia in Maribor, 82:69. The girls thus improved the impression from the defeat the previous day and showed what they had been working on during the ten-day preparations in Podgorica.

Although coach Jelena Škerović mixed up the lineup a bit, so unlike the first match, captain Bojana Kovačević did not play, Montenegro opened the match much better and took a 12:4 lead. The Slovenians quickly caught up, but our team's new surge came in the last 5 minutes of the second quarter when they took a 41:27 lead, which was at halftime. Our team won the second half by as much as 20:9. The game continued to be fairly even, but Montenegro controlled the events and did not allow their rivals to get any more serious.

The most efficient player in our selection was Nikolina Ilić with 15 points, all on 3-point shooting (5/11), and Marija Leković scored 13 points with 5 assists. Maja Bigović scored 9 points, and Ksenija Šćepanović and Lana Vukčević, a returnee to the selection, each scored 8 points. Among the Slovenians, Mojca Jelenc stood out with 18 points.

Montenegro will face the second phase of European Championship qualifiers in November, when its rivals will be Turkey, Poland and Israel.
