Prošlo je 18 godina, od kada je Crna Gora upisana na sportsku mapu svijeta. Na sjednici Međunarodnog olimpijskog komiteta u Gvatemali 2007. godine, Crnogorski olimpijski komitet je jednoglasno priznat za 204. člana globalne olimpijske porodice.
