Diallo earned the award thanks to his huge impact on defense throughout the season, where he stood out for his versatility and consistency. As a key player for Monaco on the defensive end, he successfully covered multiple positions, utilizing a combination of speed, strength and basketball intelligence.
In his fifth season in the EuroLeague, he recorded 1.34 steals per game, while averaging 11.9 points and 4.4 rebounds, confirming his great value on both ends of the court. Advanced statistics further highlighted his contributions, especially in one-on-one play and in puck defense.
With him, Monaco was among the best teams in terms of the number of turnovers they forced on their rivals, as well as in overall defensive parameters.
Second place in the selection was taken by Nikola Meli from Fenerbahçe, while Thomas Vocap, Walter Tavares and Jerian Grant were behind him.
With this recognition, Diallo joined the elite group of defensive specialists, among whom Dimitris Dijamandidis stands out with a record six awards.
