The Council session, whose agenda includes the election of the ASK director, will begin at ten o'clock.
The candidates for the position of Director of the ASK are the acting (acting) Director of the Agency Dušan Drakić, former Director of the Police Academy Vladimir Stanišić, ASK employee Kristina Braletić, former Acting Secretary of the Prosecutorial Council Mithat Kuč and lawyer Nina Radulović.
The Agency's Council announced a new vacancy in mid-March, after the previous procedure failed to elect a director. At that time, Drakić, although the only candidate after Kuč withdrew his candidacy, did not receive the necessary support for election for a full term.
In order for the ASK Director to be elected, four out of five members of the Council need to vote for him.
The agency has been without a full-time director for almost a year and a half. Drakić has been acting since August 2024, following the dismissal of former director Jelena Perović, against whom legal proceedings are underway before the Podgorica High Court.
The election of a full-term director of ASK is one of Brussels' demands in the process of Montenegro's accession to the European Union.
