When it was time to stand up for reforms, Šaranović points out, he stood up for obstruction. When it was time to stand up for the state, he stood up for those who have been accustomed to the state serving them for years.
"We remind the public that the members of the parliamentary majority have already shown in the first vote what is most important for Montenegro today. That they cannot be influenced by power centers, interest structures, or any criminal interests that interfere with reforms, checks, professionalization, and cleaning up the system. They will show this resilience in the second vote, because this majority is not building a security sector tailored to privileged individuals, but to the needs of the state and all its citizens," Šaranović points out.
Šaranović emphasizes that it is particularly hypocritical for someone who has been protecting Milo Đukanović's personnel and generals in the defense system for years, who has prevented necessary changes and who, through his actions and inactions, has caused serious damage to the interests of Montenegro, to talk about reforms. Those who have protected the old structures have no moral right to stop those who are today trying to strengthen the system and return it to the state.
"Montenegro no longer has time to return to the old ways," concludes Šaranović.
