"While the president of the state constantly calls on members of parliament to "be responsible towards citizens, the rule of law and the functionality of the Constitutional Court", in practice he shows what the pressure looks like on those who preserve the legal order of Montenegro with independent decisions.
"With this move, he made it clear to the entire Montenegrin public, as well as to his European partners, that the election of a judge of the Constitutional Court does not represent a step closer to Brussels for him, but an opportunity for greater influence on political processes in the country," Pejović said.
Also, as he states, "I think it is crystal clear to everyone how controversial the announcement is that it is only a matter of days before he will collapse the agreement, because Mr. Milatović, by promoting good biographies, is obviously counting on his vote in the Constitutional Court in advance, and very likely is thereby conditioning the candidate he proposes for this position."
"One gets the impression that making a decision and acting against the current government and all its international partners, from the UAE, France, Hungary to the USA, is a greater recommendation than the biography itself," said Pejović.
