As Kalač emphasized, the statement does not reflect the actual situation on the ground.
"As someone who knows Mount Hajla and the local situation well, I believe it is frivolous and irresponsible to make such claims without concrete and verifiable evidence. It is much more likely that behind the whole story are the interests of various lobbies associated with ski resort projects, which have been trying to influence the development of this area for a long time. Such statements divert attention from the core problems and try to shift responsibility to the wrong side. Of particular concern is the fact that representatives of the Democratic Front do not recognize the Republic of Kosovo, which further complicates the overall political context and casts doubt on the motives of such statements," Kalač said.
He says that a broader question of political responsibility also arises: whether representatives of the Bosniak Party should be part of a government in which certain constituents do not recognize fundamental values of essential importance to the Bosniak people, including the adjudicated Genocide in Srebrenica, the integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the independence of the Republic of Kosovo.
"Unfortunately, it seems that the representatives of the Bosniak Party, as well as the representatives of Rožaje in the current Government, do not have enough strength or capacity to resist these pressures and clearly protect the interests of citizens. This project is not just a matter of investment, but a matter of survival, one of the rare development projects that can stop emigration and encourage the population to stay and return to Rožaje. I call on all authorities to, if there is any serious information or evidence, publicly present it to institutions and citizens. Otherwise, such statements remain at the level of speculation that only cause unrest and undermine trust," concluded Kalač.
He added that citizens deserve truth, transparency and accountability, not unverified claims that further deepen divisions.
