However, they emphasize, it is not certain that the City Stadium will be given over to music stars as was the case in previous decades. Organizers state that Podgorica has become a concert destination, and citizens' opinions on ticket prices are divided.
In order for a music star to organize a concert in the Morača Hall, they need to pay the Sports Facilities a little less than 500 euros for each hour of use of the space, with the minimum rental period being 36 hours. The city company says they are satisfied with the attendance and earnings.
"Especially when music stars from the region, such as Bijelo Dugme and Zdravko Čolić, were guests," said the director of the Sports Facilities, Miljan Ivanović.
The management of the Sports Facilities is in negotiations with music stars who will perform at "Morača", but their names are a trade secret for now.
"I think the concerts will continue even when the reconstruction of the roof of "Morača" begins," said Ivanovic.
The small sports stadium, where concerts and music festivals are organized, is currently not in operation, emphasizes Ivanović.
"It does not have a use permit. Intensive work is being done on it. The access road and infrastructure need to be fixed, in terms of sewage and water supply. After that, we will start laying the new surface on the basketball and football areas. After that, concerts will be able to be held," Ivanovic points out.
Concerts at the BEMAX Arena are attracting a large number of attendees, according to the organization behind the five concerts held in that space.
"For several reasons. In addition to coming to enjoy the performance of their favorite singer, the atmosphere is different indoors. You don't have to think about the weather conditions, there is security, the tone is not wasted, the sound is not wasted," says concert promoter Sanja Marković.
And while the Sports Facilities say that it is not certain that there will be concerts at the Pod Goricam Stadium like before, the Mtel Hall "Morača" is being prepared for the performance of Saša Matić and Aco Pejović on March 7. Emina Jahović will sing at the neighboring Bemax Arena the night before.
We asked the citizens of Podgorica whether they attend concerts in sports halls, and whether ticket prices are affordable.
