The Sofia International Film Festival will be held from March 12 to 31, 2026.
The world premiere of the film "Otter" was held last year, at the 31st edition of the Sarajevo Film Festival, where the film opened the competition selection.
The story centers on Hana, an introverted sixteen-year-old girl who is eagerly awaiting the best day of her life because her crush, Balša, has invited her on a trip to the lake. But that morning, her father dies, and Balša is not who she thinks he is.
The main roles are entrusted to high school students, so the role of Hana is played by Maša Drašler, Balša by Savin Perišić, and Luka by Pavle Marković. In addition to them, the main roles include: Nada Vukčević, Marko Janketić, and Aleksandar Gavranić.
The film also stars Jelena Laban, Julija Milačić Petrović Njegoš, Stefan Vuković, Davor Dragojević, Fatmir Spahiu, Lara Velimirović, Mara Rakčević, Aurita Augushi, Goran "Brčko" Nikčević, Maja Stojanović, Edona Reshitaj, Llora Nikprelaj, Vuk Vučinić, Davud Bahović and others.
The film is a co-production of Montenegro, Italy, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. In addition to the Film Center of Montenegro, the project was supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Apulia Film Commission, the Croatian Audiovisual Center (HAVC), the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Sarajevo Canton, the Sarajevo Cinematography Foundation, the Kosovo Cinematography Center, and the Radio and Television of Montenegro.
