Police officers from the Regional Security Center "South", Ulcinj Security Department, filed a misdemeanor report against a person who used a starter gun while in a moving vehicle, the Police Directorate announced.

"Namely, today at around 12:00, acting on information that an unknown person from an "Audi" vehicle with Nikšić license plates fired a firearm on Maršala Tita Boulevard, police officers took a series of measures and actions within their jurisdiction in order to determine all the facts and circumstances of this event and ensure the safety of citizens," they said in a statement.

Through a series of activities undertaken, the identity of the person using this vehicle was determined, and through a quick and coordinated response by Ulcinj and Bar police officers, it was located in the territory of the municipality of Bar, where it was stopped by officers of the Bar Security Department.

"At the time of the control, it was being driven by DV (30) from Nikšić. Upon inspection of this vehicle, the police found a Zoraki starter pistol, which was confiscated," the police added.

The police announced that DV was brought to the official premises of the Ulcinj Security Department, where information was collected from him for the record, and the prosecutor at the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Ulcinj was informed of the event, who stated that DV's actions did not constitute elements of a criminal offense for which prosecution is being undertaken ex officio.

"A request has been filed against him to initiate misdemeanor proceedings for violations of the Public Order and Peace Act, and in relation to the seized pistol, he has been issued a misdemeanor warrant pursuant to the Weapons Act," the police concluded.
