"Officers of the Regional Border Police Center "Centar" and the Mobile Border Police Unit last night, in continuation of a regional operation conducted with the aim of increased surveillance of border crossings and the so-called green border, as well as detecting and suppressing all forms of cross-border crime, prevented the smuggling of 63 kilograms of marijuana," the police said.
During the relevant field activities, police officers spotted a vehicle and a person in a settlement in the municipality of Tuzi, which they attempted to stop, but which ignored the issued order and continued moving. The vehicle was soon located, while the driver fled in an unknown direction.
"During a search of the area, police officers found two bags, which are suspected to have been discarded by the person in question during his escape, containing 58 PVC packages containing marijuana, with a total weight of over 63 kilograms," they point out.
Officers of the Regional Border Police Center "Center", in cooperation and on the order of the State Prosecutor at the Higher State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, are taking further measures and actions to locate and detain the perpetrator of the criminal offense, of which the public will be informed in a timely manner.
