Criminal charges against three people for abuse of official position

Police have filed criminal charges against three people on suspicion of abuse of office.



These are officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs from Bar and a police officer from Bijelo Polje.

"Namely, due to suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of abuse of office, officers of the Bar Security Department filed a criminal complaint against Z.Đ. (67), an employee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Regional Unit for Administrative Affairs, Citizenship and Foreigners in Bar, who was assigned to the position of Head of the Bar Regional Unit from 2013 to mid-2021, as well as against BD (45), also employed at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Regional Unit Bar, as an independent advisor II," they stated.

The police added that these persons, in their capacity as employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Montenegro, by unlawfully abusing their official position and exceeding the limits of their official authority, and by failing to perform their official duties, issued a permit to purchase weapons of category "B" to the applicant for the purchase of weapons, despite the fact that the person did not meet the conditions, i.e. the prescribed conditions for issuing a permit to purchase weapons to a natural person were not met by the applicant.

"In addition, officers of the Bijelo Polje Security Department filed a criminal complaint against an officer of the GB Police Directorate on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of forging a document. It is suspected that GB committed the criminal offense charged against him by making a false certificate on behalf of the Police Directorate Union on December 22, 2025, certifying it without the consent of an authorized representative of the union organization, which he then used to conclude a deal on the purchase of goods on deferred payment worth almost 3,000 euros," they emphasized.
