"Officers of the Crime Prevention Sector - Department for Combating Corruption, Economic Crime, Conducting Financial Investigations and Suppression of Environmental Crime, in cooperation with officers of the Urban Construction Inspection, the Ministry of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, and in coordination with the basic state prosecutor's offices in Podgorica, Ulcinj and Bar, filed criminal charges against four persons on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of constructing a facility without a building permit and construction documentation," the Police Directorate said in a statement.
In the process leading up to the filing of the criminal complaint, the police came to the suspicion that GB (38) from Podgorica, SK (67) from Bijelo Polje and Š.N. (50) and Đ.R. (73) from Bar committed the crimes by starting the construction of buildings from hard materials in the past few years without a registration and construction documentation, which caused material damage of around 190,000 euros to the budgets of the municipalities of Podgorica, Ulcinj and Bar, based on unpaid utilities.
"Officers of the Crime Prevention Sector continue intensive and coordinated joint planning activities with urban planning inspectors to combat illegal construction of buildings throughout the territory of Montenegro, which, in addition to devastating the area, also causes great material damage to the budget of Montenegro and its citizens," they concluded in a statement.
