"Officers of the Crime Prevention Sector - Department for Combating Corruption, Economic Crime, Conducting Financial Investigations and Suppression of Environmental Crime, together with officers of the Financial Intelligence Sector, in cooperation with officers of the Tax Administration, and with the coordination of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica, filed a criminal complaint against a legal entity and its executive director for tax and contribution evasion for an extended period," the statement said.
Namely, as suspected, the aforementioned criminal offense was committed in such a way that R.Š. (55), acting on behalf of and for the account of the legal entity "MC" doo Podgorica, in the capacity of executive director, continuously during 2023, 2024 and 2025, in order to avoid paying taxes and contributions, did not report facts that had an impact on the determination of the aforementioned obligations, based on personal income tax, unreported turnover for actually delivered services and uncalculated and unreported VAT on them, as well as corporate income tax. In this way, this person obtained unlawful material gain for himself and the aforementioned legal entity, and caused material damage to the budget of Montenegro based on evaded tax in the total amount of 417,942 euros.
"Officers of the Crime Prevention Sector, within the framework of a national project of a permanent nature codenamed "Evasion", continue with intensified targeted activities, aimed at exposing and prosecuting responsible persons from the economic sector whose criminal actions directly disrupt the economic order of the state," the police statement reads.
Through strong inter-institutional cooperation and coordinated activities with competent authorities, decisive measures are being taken to protect the economic interests of citizens and preserve the budget of Montenegro. Operation "Evasion" represents the state's systemic response to tax and financial fraud, with the clear goal of strengthening accountability, legality and financial discipline in all segments of the economy.
