The President of the Commercial Court of Montenegro, Mladen Grdinić, was elected as the President of the Commission, while the President of the Higher Court for Minor Offences of Montenegro, Larisa Begović, was elected as the Deputy President.
"The members of the Commission are the judge of the Basic Court in Kotor, Narcisa Bošković, and the president of the Basic Court in Bijelo Polje, Gorica Đalović, while their deputies are the judge of the Basic Court in Nikšić, Ana Krivokapić, and the president of the Misdemeanor Court in Bijelo Polje, Vukajlo Smolović," they said in a statement.
The mandate of the Selection Commission lasts four years.
"Given that the Commission is elected no later than three months before the expiration of the term of office of the Judicial Council, the court presidents, at the request of the President of the Supreme Court of Montenegro, Valentina Pavličić, acted efficiently and fulfilled an obligation of exceptional importance for the further course of the procedure for electing members of the Judicial Council from among judges," the Supreme Court stated.
In this way, as they say, the first step in the comprehensive procedure for electing members of the Judicial Council from among judges was successfully implemented, bearing in mind that the mandate of the current composition expires on July 11, 2026.
