Today's action represents another strong confirmation that the state is determined to go all the way in the fight against organized crime, Deputy Prime Minister for Security, Defense, Fight against Crime and Internal Policy Aleksa Bečić announced on his Facebook account.

"The arrest of a person suspected of being one of the leaders of the Balkan cartel shows that there are no longer any untouchables and that Montenegro, in cooperation with international partners, is waging a serious, decisive and continuous fight against criminal networks that have undermined the security of the state for decades," he said.

He emphasizes that this is the result of the work of institutions, their coordination, professionalism and clear political will to cleanse Montenegro of the influence of organized crime.

"The fight will not stop. Every criminal structure, no matter how strong it thinks it is, must know that the state is stronger. We continue even more determinedly, even more courageously and without a single step back," concluded Bečić.
