Bomb alert in shopping malls: Police check "Big Fashion" and "City Mall"

The Police Directorate is taking urgent counter-sabotage measures after a tip was sent to the Montenegrin media via email about explosive devices allegedly placed in the "Big Fashion" and "City Mall" shopping centers in Podgorica.

The police announced that officers reacted immediately upon receiving the information and began field checks.

"Police Directorate officers immediately acted upon the aforementioned report and are taking urgent counter-sabotage measures and actions in relation to the aforementioned," the statement said.

The competent Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Podgorica was also informed about the case, which is monitoring the further course of activities.

As stated by the police, in parallel with the checks at the locations, work is also underway to identify the person who sent the disputed emails.

"Police officers, in coordination with the competent state prosecutor, are simultaneously taking measures and actions to determine the identity of the person who sent the disputed emails," the Police Directorate announced.

The police said that the public will be informed in a timely manner about the results of the activities undertaken.
