But what about the other nearby bridge, on the same street, which leads to the “RR” hotel on the very coast, in the coastal zone?
At the beginning of that iron bridge, there has long been a sign warning: “Strictly prohibited from stopping! The bridge is damaged!” In the second part of the sign, there is a drawing of a spider-vehicle and the inscription “The spider carries”.
Few people pay attention to it. As far as we know, the bridge is only paved, and vehicles and pedestrians cross it every day. It is especially risky in the summer when there are many more cars and denser traffic. Drivers do not respect the sign that Braće Pedišića Street is one-way. They cross that bridge in both directions, and they get “stuck” right there. The traffic jam lasts for half an hour or an hour. Nervousness grows, people swear… We are witnesses of such situations when “everyone acts smart” and “salve” to others that they have the right of way. No one thinks about the risk they are taking while waiting on the damaged bridge.
Secretary for Utilities Vasilije Seferovic, tells Novski portal that last year they received a promise from JP "Morsko dobro" that they would start reconstructing that part of the promenade by the summer. The entire promenade up to the pedestrian tunnel in Meljine will be unified, they announced from "Morsko dobro" at a meeting with representatives of the Municipality of Herceg Novi when they discussed the necessary investments in this municipality.
However, the "Morski dobr" has not yet started work and it will probably take a while. The Secretariat hopes that the work will start this year. Until then, especially this season, it would be good to have more municipal and traffic police on this part.
