"It is precisely by paying attention and highlighting the importance of this topic that we contribute to reducing stigmatization and prejudice, and we build a social environment of equal opportunities based on acceptance, equality and full social inclusion of every individual," the Municipality of Bar states.
They add that recognizing the fact that access to quality healthcare and support services in this area is often limited, and listening to the needs of fellow citizens, the Municipality of Bar, within the framework of the Local Action Plan for Social and Child Protection and Improvement of Social Inclusion, has defined a new support service for children with autism spectrum disorders and their families.
"Namely, the new plan envisages the allocation of subsidies for the costs of treatment, therapy and rehabilitation of children with autism spectrum disorders. The total amount of funds foreseen in the local budget for this purpose for 2026 is 100,000.00 euros," they said in a statement.
By doing so, the local government wants to contribute to the improvement of social and child protection of children and provide the necessary support to their families in providing necessary treatments in a way that will improve their quality of life in the long term and enable more equal participation in the local community. In addition to reducing the financial burden of families facing high treatment costs, this measure also seeks to ensure continuity in the provision of necessary services that are crucial for the development of children.
