"Once again, we appeal to all persons from Ukraine in Montenegro whose temporary protection document expired on March 4, and who intend to continue to reside in Montenegro on the basis of temporary protection, to submit a request for extension of temporary protection and obtain a new document by April 20, as a condition for unhindered residence in Montenegro and for exercising rights under temporary protection, otherwise their stay in Montenegro will be considered illegal," the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs pointed out the importance of timely submission of applications for extension of temporary protection for persons from Ukraine in Montenegro who intend to extend their status as a foreigner under temporary protection, as the only legal way to regulate residence in Montenegro with the aforementioned status and to exercise the rights arising from that status.
"After the expiration of the newly established deadline for submitting requests for the extension of temporary protection until April 20, 2026, there will be no further extension of deadlines for the stated purpose," they concluded.
