A delegation from the Clinical Center of Montenegro (KCCG) visited the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS) where they were received by the Director General, Dr. Alen Pilav.

At exceptionally organized meetings, with the participation of relevant representatives of the KCUS, discussions were held on improving cooperation and exchanging experiences both in areas where good results are being recorded, as well as on issues that continue to be a challenge for both health systems.

"A special focus during the visit was given to the introduction of specific digital solutions that enable greater control over the use of medicines and medical devices, i.e. solutions that increase the degree of patient accessibility to health institutions. An important segment of the visit related to reviewing the experiential aspects of the introduction of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), which is currently the focus of the Montenegrin health system. Topics of the daily functioning of health institutions were also discussed, such as the lack of medical staff, problems in the procurement of certain cytostatics, and waiting lists for certain examinations and diagnostic procedures. The common assessment is that these are complex issues without quick and simple solutions," they said in a statement.

The KCCG delegation also had the opportunity to visit the premises in the final phase of renovation, where four clinics will soon be moved. The spatial organization was of great importance to the KCCG representatives, given that similar activities are in the design phase at KCCG.

They add that it was agreed to establish direct closer cooperation in the future, the participation of KCCG doctors in the upcoming presentation of a surgical procedure using a robot, as well as a return visit to the Clinical Center of Montenegro.

"During their stay in Sarajevo, the delegation took the opportunity to visit a private hospital in Sarajevo, MEDICANA, which, in terms of its size and equipment, represents the very top of modern medical institutions. PZU General Hospital Medicana Sarajevo operates as one of 19 clinics owned by the Turkish group MEDICANA HEALTH GROUP. The delegation was hosted by Prof. Dr. Sedat Ziyade, Executive Director. The KCCG delegation was led by Director Dr. Aleksandar Radović, and consisted of Medical Director Dr. Đorđije Krnjević, Armin Muhović, Sanja Vojinović and Stojan Vuletić," they point out in the statement.

The visit was organized as part of the activities of the working group for process optimization at KCCG, which aims to rationalize processes, increase work efficiency, and increase the level of use of digital solutions.
