As part of the project "Education to Full Integration of the RE Population", implemented by the NGO "Association for the Support of Roma and Egyptians", and financed by the Ministry of Human and Minority Rights, a campaign on the importance of preschool, primary and secondary education in the area of the Municipality of Berane has been carried out in the past two months, the NGO "Association for the Support of Roma and Egyptians" announced.

"As part of this campaign, 50 families of the RE population were visited and the importance of education and the enrollment procedure were discussed," they said in the statement.

Otherwise, Berane is, as they say, recognized for its preschool education of children of the RE population, with 70 children attending the "Radmila Nedić" kindergarten, while the "Radomir Mitrović" elementary school has nearly 160 students, and the "Vuk Karadžić" elementary school has 56 students of the RE population.

"Regarding secondary education, so far 12 people from the RE population from Berane have completed secondary school, two people are completing secondary school part-time, while nearly 10 are attending secondary school regularly. By the way, we are grateful to the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, headed by Minister Andjela Jaksić Stojanović, for recognizing and appreciating the importance of increasing the number of employed mediators, so that children from the RE population have greater support, and it is commendable that a new standard for the profession of mediators has been developed," they said in a statement.

In addition to the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, as they said, our efforts, as well as the efforts of educational institutions where children of the RE population are educated, are also strongly supported by the Municipality of Berane, headed by President Đole Lutovac, emphasized Executive Director Sultan Beća.

"What is very commendable and requires extreme respect is that the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation is our sincere partner in many initiatives, so we are grateful to both Minister Andjela Jaksić Stojanović and her team members Svetlana Drobnjak and Dragan Mijušković. On this occasion, we would also like to thank the Institute for Education of Montenegro, which provides guidance and supports our activities, whose director Raba Hodžić visited us on one occasion," Beća concluded in a statement.
