Edin was born on June 19, 1979 in Sarajevo.
He was one of the most famous sports journalists, commentators and columnists in the Balkans, and definitely the most recognizable for his coverage of basketball games and his detailed knowledge of NBA and European basketball. He graduated in journalism from the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo, and before his journalism career, he was actively involved in basketball in the youth teams of KK Bosna.
He began his career at Federal Television, then worked at OBN, where he gained great popularity as a commentator for the NBA league, and then became one of the faces of Arena Sport television. He was known for his energetic commentary style, expert analysis, and basketball columns that were among the most read in the region for years.
Recently, together with his colleague Miloš Jovanović, he has hosted the popular podcast "Udvajanje", as well as his own show "X&O's chat" on Television Una.
Thanks to his knowledge, charisma, and authentic approach, Avdić was considered one of the most recognizable and respected sports commentators in the former Yugoslavia.
