Mazula won the award ahead of J.B. Bickerstaff of the Detroit Pistons and Mitch Johnson of San Antonio.
With Boston this season, he reached second place in the East, but at the start of the playoffs, the Celtics were eliminated by Philadelphia.
Mazula has been the coach of Boston since 2022. He won a ring with the Celtics two years ago, and has a total record of 238 wins and 90 losses while coaching the famous franchise. This season, his record is 56 wins and 26 losses.
Mazula is the fourth winner of this award from Boston, as Red Auerbach, Tom Heinson and Bill Fitch were named the best coach before him.
