The decision was made in accordance with the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon and will be valid until its expiration, Aragchi said on the social network X.
"In accordance with the ceasefire in Lebanon, the passage for all commercial vessels through the Strait of Hormuz has been declared fully open for the remaining period of the ceasefire, on a coordinated route as already announced by the Ports and Maritime Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran," Aragchi wrote on the social network X.
US President Donald Trump immediately reacted to the news from Tehran.
"Iran just announced that the crossing is fully open. Thank you," Trump wrote on his Truth Social network.
