Police officers of the Regional Security Center "North", acting within the framework of planned activities to combat economic crime, filed criminal charges against two persons with the competent state prosecutor's offices in Berane and Bijelo Polje, on suspicion of having committed criminal offenses in this area, the Police Directorate announced.

Namely, police officers have processed a person named MK from Rožaje on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of illicit trade. It is suspected that MK committed the aforementioned offense by handing over a large quantity of textile goods without documentation, with a total value of approximately 19,500 euros, to another person for sale, although he does not have a license to engage in trade. The goods were found after a vehicle inspection in Berane.

Also, the Police Directorate added, police officers filed a criminal complaint with the competent prosecutor against a person named AK from Bijelo Polje, on suspicion of committing the criminal offense of counterfeiting money. As suspected, AK obtained and put into circulation two counterfeit banknotes in denominations of 200 euros each, when purchasing a working machine, thereby obtaining an unlawful material benefit in the amount of 400 euros, to the detriment of another person.

"The police continue with intensive activities to detect and suppress all forms of crime, with a special focus on criminal acts in the field of economic crime, in order to protect the economic system and the interests of citizens," the Police Directorate concluded.
