Key facts:

  • The student drew a sketch with initials
  • Case reported to the police
  • The student claimed he was joking.
  • Competent authorities involved

As she pointed out during a guest appearance on RTRS's Morning Program, Pušić explained that it all happened on March 24th in the afternoon during the second shift when the English teacher gave the students the task of marking the rooms in her house and defining them in English, and during the task she noticed that one of the students was making a drawing.

"She waited until the end of class and took the drawing and brought it to the hall. When they saw that the drawing was suspicious, the teacher informed the class teacher and then the principal and the school's professional services," Pušić says.

She adds that after receiving the information, she immediately contacted the school's professional services.

"I was so upset that night that I didn't even think I could fall asleep. The next morning I was at school at six o'clock and forwarded the message I received from the class teacher to the responsible person at the Lazarevo Police Station," she said.

The day after that, they held a series of talks, while on March 26th, they also had a multi-sectoral team meeting.

Speaking about the student himself, Pušić said that he had received two disciplinary measures up to that point, and that he had threatened children, primarily girls.

She added that the student was lively, but extremely smart and intelligent.

After talking with the school psychologist and school staff, the student stated that he was joking.

The director denied that there was a list of names.

"There is a sketch of the floor where the boy was, that is, the classrooms and offices are located there. The boy drew where each office is located, defined it, and drew the classrooms that are there. It is true that there are initials, but look, who are we to judge who those initials are. We cannot define that. That is what the competent services are for, who will define what is hidden behind those initials," said the director.

Pušić states that the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska and the Republic Pedagogical Institute of Republika Srpska have been notified.

Irena Joldžić, director of the Center for Social Work Banja Luka, who also appeared on the Morning Program, said that she was informed about the event immediately.

"The main thing is to report any form of violence and everything that happens to the police. To report it to the Mental Health Center because the center will be the best place to say what the child is ready to do," says Joldžić.

He adds that the boy should not be immediately convicted until it is proven what exactly happened.
