The Minister of Spatial Planning, Urbanism and State Property, Slaven Radunović, today, in the presence of partner international organizations, opened a conference at which the publication "Profile of the State of Montenegro in the Field of Housing, Urban Development and Land Management" was presented.

In his address, the Minister emphasized the importance of space as Montenegro's most precious resource and a fundamental component of the country's economy, but also recalled key relevant challenges - from uneven regional development and depopulation of the north, to the housing affordability crisis affecting young families, on the one hand, and the expansion of housing construction, which we have witnessed in previous years, on the other.

"The country profile provides a detailed and independent insight into existing policies, identifies key challenges and development needs, and offers concrete recommendations for improving public policies, including legislative, institutional and strategic reform measures," said Minister Radunović.

The publication was produced last year with the support of a grant from the Inclusive Growth Account of the Slovak Republic within the Council of Europe Development Bank (CEB), through technical assistance from UNECE.

The Minister thanked UNECE, the Council of Europe Development Bank, as well as all domestic institutions and experts who contributed to the development of the document, emphasizing that in the coming period, the Ministry's focus will be on implementing recommendations through improving legislation, strengthening institutional capacities, as well as cooperation with local governments and international partners.
